Employment Services

Easterseals UCP provides Employment Services for adults with disabilities, enabling individuals to earn wages and develop skills.  The programs are available to individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and individuals with Mental Health or Substance Use Challenges.

Employment Services for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
We provide one-on-one assistance at a person's job site to help develop skills and build supportive relationships with co-workers and employers.  These services also help individuals with disabilities identify career interests and skills, and connect them with meaningful, competitive jobs with community employers.  Learn more about our services.

Transition to Employment
A program in 4 locations in NC to prepare high school students and young adults (ages 16-26) with Intellectual and Development Disabilities for employment.

Individual Placement and Support Services
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is a model of supported employment for people with serious mental illness or substance use challenges. IPS supported employment helps people living with behavioral health conditions work at regular jobs of their choosing. In partnership with Virginia Cooperative Extension, the AgrAbility Virginia project provides direct education and on-site assistance to farmers and farm workers with disabilities, as well as their family members.  The project offers information on modification/adaptation of farm equipment and operations, farmstead accessibility, and assistive technology.
