Easterseals UCP’s Regional Education Assessment Crisis Services Habilitation (REACH) program in Northern Virginia provides services to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health and/or behavioral needs.
REACH is designed to meet the crisis support needs of individuals who have a developmental disability and are experiencing crisis events which put them at risk for homelessness, incarceration, hospitalization, and/or danger to self or others. REACH offers an additional layer of support to Emergency Services, the state hospital system, and caregivers who work most closely with individuals with a developmental disability (DD).
The teams provide crisis intervention, training, consultation, and crisis stabilization in conjunction with all of individual’s community-based services. A top priority is to help the individual remain in his/her home or community placement. We offer a residential crisis home that provides a therapeutic environment and short-term resources for crisis prevention and stabilization. Any paid or unpaid support in the individual’s life can refer to VA REACH services by calling the regional crisis and referral line.
