Foster Care Success Stories

The Foster Care Team at Easterseals UCP in North Carolina has made an impact on the lives.  Thanks to comitted foster parents, children were able to find a home that was safe, supportive and loving. Below is the growing list of successes we're proud of!


Mason Reconnects with His Family
foster careSeveral years ago, Mason and his five silbings were removed from the care of their parents due to substance abuse challenges. His brothers and sisters were adopted or found guardians but Mason was not so lucky. After receiving support through the Intensive Alternative Family Treatment (IAFT) for emotional and behavioral issues, Mason improved and was later connected with his siblings and grandparents. At age 14, Mason was discharged to his grandparents who were given legal guardianship.

Foster Care Family Makes A Difference
northThanks to a loving Easterseals UCP foster family, twin siblings, Jaydon and Ariana, found a permanent home -- together.  This happy ending came after seven years of moving in and out of foster homes.  Now, they have one they can call home. Read more.


Mechell Has a Bright Future
foster careAfter years of being bounced from foster homes, relatives and a mother with a drug addiction, she has now finally found a home and a future.  Thanks to the Easterseals UCP Therapeutic Foster Care program, she has found love, a good education and hope. WRAL Documentary

Scallia: Starting Over
foster careScallia needed a home at 17 years old and thanks to loving and supporting foster parents, she found exactly that.  She graduated from high school and is on her way to successful future with college and a job. Read more.
