With 3 million people diagnosed with autism in the United States, the need for programs and support is growing at an alarming rate. Autism is a community epidemic. Learning to cope, understand, and accept the children, men and women with autism is essential. Easter Seals UCP is expanding it's autism services beginning in Charlotte, then moving into Raleigh and Wilmington.
The latest CDC report issued on March 31, 2016 indicates the rate of autism remains the same as reported in 2014 with 1 in 68 individuals born with autism. But, they caution that the steady rate doesn't mean autism has stabilized. Read the 2016 CDC Autism Report.
