Our Commitment to Equity

Creating a hopeful, inclusive community, as Easterseals DC MD VA envisions, begins with ensuring that our program participants, staff, and Board leadership feel a genuine sense of belonging to our organization. Offering everyone a seat at the table is, however, only a start; true equity comes when everyone around the table feels welcome and has their voice heard.

Our organization therefore works intentionally to:

  • Attract participants who can benefit from Easterseals programs, regardless of their ability to pay
  • Recruit staff and Board members who reflect the diversity of our community and bring a variety of perspectives
  • Include all voices in decision making

These pages represent our heartfelt commitment to transparency, accountability, and improvement. We have made progress toward our goals, but our journey to achieve them continues.
