Caregiving is a demanding job and no one is equipped to do it alone. Respite care provides caregivers with time to maintain employment or relieve stress while your family member with a disability is being well-cared for. Our Daily Living Skills Group and After School Respite programs offer children and young adults educational and growth opportunities.
The Daily Living Skills Group is offered for children ages 7-21 with all types of special needs, including emotional and behavior challenges. It was designed by paraprofessionals to practice daily living skills including self-care and independent daily activities. The group meets three days a week for 2-3 hour sessions and is staffed on a 4 participant to 1 staff member ratio. CLTS Waiver is accepted and a self-pay option is available. After School Respite is available for individuals ages 7 to 21 with disabilities. Currently offered at two locations, the program provides participants with a safe, fun place to go after school, while allowing parents to work full time hours.
These programs are available Monday-Friday from after school until 6:00 pm (following the academic calendar of the cooperating school district). These programs are staffed on a 4 participant to 1 staff member ratio. We are currently accepting registrations.
Program activities include (but are not limited to):
Program staff is also able to provide personal assistance for individuals, such as assistance with using the restroom, dressing or eating. These programs follow a person-centered approach that allows students to choose their favorite activities and ensures they are always engaged in an activity while in our care.
