This spring, there is an easy and crafty way to ensure all children have the right tools to succeed in the earliest years of life.
For the seventh year in a row, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts is teaming up with Easterseals and its Make the First Five Count® initiative to support child wellness, growth, and happiness through the first five years of development.
Customers who visit any A.C. Moore store from March 13th until April 9th can donate $1 to support Easterseals’ community-based services for young children including a free online screening tool to help guide families through the important first five years of their child’s life.
A free craft event will be held on Saturday, March 19th, from 1-3 PM at more than 140 participating A.C. Moore locations. Guests will be able to use CraZart’s ModelLite products to design the Make the Five Count penguin character which exemplifies the importance of play in a young child’s life.
Since launching the campaign in 2010, A.C. Moore customers and store team members have raised nearly $730,000 for Easterseals.
Why A.C. Moore and Easterseals
Together, A.C. Moore and Easterseals are igniting a movement designed to unite all parents and children through craft and cause.
Easterseals has walked alongside parents and families for almost 100 years. We know that the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical developmental stages, so it's important to us that families receive proper knowledge, support, and care as they lay the foundation for their child’s long-term skill and success.
Crafting connects, says Neas: “Not only are crafts an enjoyable activity for children, simple crafting can also help children learn important skills that affect their overall development. Crafting is just one of the ways parents can observe their children’s developmental progress.”
