Veteran war correspondent Mike Boettcher and his son Carlos embedded with U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Their immersive feature film The Hornet's Nest illustrates life at war through dramatic handheld footage. Armed only with their cameras, Mike and Carlos provide unprecedented access into the longest war in U.S. history. Their journey documents the story of death and survival—not only for the soldiers, but for a father and son who seek to rekindle their relationship under the most harrowing of circumstances.
Easter Seals Dixon Center is hosting screenings and working with The Hornet's Nest and its production companies to introduce the feature film to communities of people who can take the next step—welcoming our brave veterans home to communities that embrace them and work together to meet their needs for health care, education and opportunities for meaningful employment.
