Parsippany, N.J., November 20, 2012
Century 21 Real Estate LLC, the franchisor of the world’s largest residential real estate sales organization, today announced that its president and CEO Rick Davidson will lead a team of climbers on the 2012 Climb for Kids with fundraising on behalf of Easter Seals.
The team will attempt to summit two Mexican volcanos, Pico de Orizaba and Iztaccíhuatl, with a combined elevation of 35,650 feet. The team’s goal is to raise one dollar per foot of elevation climbed. Mr. Davidson’s annual fundraising expedition coincides with CENTURY 21 National Giving Month in November, and is designed to build awareness and raise funds in support of its philanthropic partner, Easter Seals’ Make the First Five Count® initiative.
Every year, more than one million children with unidentified disabilities enter school with learning and health issues that put them far behind their peers and have a lasting, negative effect on their ability to meet their full potential. Through Make the First Five Count, Easter Seals is raising awareness of and advocating for early detection and early intervention services for kids who may be at risk for autism, developmental delays or other disabilities.
“Easter Seals provides invaluable services to families in our local communities every day,” said Davidson who is also first vice-chair of the Easter Seals Board. “This climb is in support of their tireless work and ongoing dedication to serve those living with autism and other disabilities.”
In addition to Rick Davidson, the 2012 Climb for Kids team includes:
“We’re thrilled that Rick and the Climb for Kids team is embarking on another adventurous trek in support of our programs,” says James E. Williams, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Easter Seals. “We’re continually amazed and grateful at the CENTURY 21 System’s generous support of our organization. CENTURY 21 brokers and agents are true Easter Seals Champions, having raised and contributed more than $104 million to Easter Seals since 1979.”
The Climb for Kids journey will begin base camp on Mount Iztaccihuat, where they’ll tackle Mexico's third highest mountain at 17,159 feet, then on to North America's third highest mountain, Pico de Orizaba at 18,491 feet.
