The curriculum, presented by the Easter Seals Disability Awareness staff, is tailored to the needs of a particular school, classroom, or community group.
This curriculum is also an essential component of the Easter Seals Integration Program. Prior to an Easter Seals student participating in any integration experience, the Disability Awareness staff present the Disability Awareness Program to children in the typical school program that will be sharing in the integration experience. This allows the typical children to "experience" a disabilty, so that they can underrstand and welcome future interaction with children and adults with disabilities.
