Residential Housing

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania’s Franklin Division operates three residential community homes within Venango County.

Our mission is to provide a safe supportive living arrangement to individuals with Developmental Disabilities. We provide 24 hour supervised support to consumers funded through Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). This DPW 6400 Licensed Program is inspected annually by the Bureau of Human Service Licensing and is monitored on an ongoing basis by the Venango County Developmental Services office. This oversight assures that the consumers enrolled in this programming are receiving quality programming and that their needs are met. Currently, this program offers 3 and 4 bedroom accommodations to its participants. Ongoing communication between the family, medical professionals, local support coordinators, agency staff and any other applicable support systems allow for the highest quality of care for consumers. Placement within this program must begin with referral by either the Western Region Vacancy Manager of ODP or the County Developmental Services program.

Some News from the Franklin Division

Goodbye Leo, We Will Miss You

After a fun, yet sad going away party, Leo Strickenberger left Easterseals Cranberry Residential Home, after living with us for over a decade!  Because of Leo's declining health, it was necessary to facilitate a move to a group home in Erie that provides a full-time medical staff better suited to meet Leo's increasing needs.  He will be greatly missed by his two roommates of eleven years with whom he shared a special bond, as well as the staff, who considered him family.  We wish him the best!

Thanks Residential Program Workers

As a thank you for their hard work this past year and in conjunction with Valentines Day, the Residential Program Workers in the Franklin/Venango Division received a gift of love – a box of candy and a T-shirt.  The T-Shirt Front read "Residential Program Worker" and the back read "Because multi-tasking ninja is not a real job title."  ♥
