Meet Dalton - Our 2024 Child Ambassador

Dalton, Ambassador, 2024, Walk With Me

We are happy to introduce Dalton, a student from our East school site.  Dalton will be serving as our 2024 Child Ambassador. Read on as Alexandra, Dalton's mother, tells his story.

Dalton was diagnosed as profoundly deaf at 3 months old and then diagnosed with polymicrogyria and developmental delays when he was 9 months old. Right before his 3rd birthday, Dalton suffered his first seizure and was diagnosed with a seizure disorder as well.

Despite his prognosis, Dalton has thrived past what anyone thought he would be capable of. He is nonverbal and does not walk on his own, however he communicates in his own way and rolls, crawls, and bounces all over the place, as well as utilizing a gait trainer to learn to walk.

Since starting with Easterseals in April of 2019, Dalton has progressed so much with his mobility and communication.  He is a force to be reckoned with!  Dalton brings a smile to everyone’s face, he is just a happy, loving, and sweet boy.  He loves anything involving water, balls, lights, and hats.  He enjoys going to baseball games and the speedy way to watch the races, and Dalton is happy doing anything outside!

We are so grateful to have found the Easterseals community and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for everything they have done for Dalton.

Mark your calendar for May 18th to come out to Kennywood and meet Dalton, while we raise money for children with Autism and other disabilities.
