Our 2022 Walk With Me Pittsburgh Ambassador

At a year and a half, Avery was diagnosed with Trisomy 12p, a rare genetic condition. Avery is non-speaking, has global developmental delays, intellectual disability, autism, and other medical diagnoses. She began attending Easterseals at age 3 in August 2021. She has made so much growth while there. Avery loves going to school. She smiles at her classmates and teachers upon arrival and knows her daily routine well. She enjoys music time, using the interactive funtronic projector, swinging, and various sensory experiences. Since attending Easterseals, Avery is better able to attend to activities and has blossomed socially.

Avery requires special education and multiple therapies at school as well as lifelong care. In the future, Easterseals can provide Avery and our family with many supports including recreational supports, adult services, and family supports.  Danielle, Avery's mothers states, "We are so grateful for the strength and support of our friends, family, and Easterseals community as we raise Avery to be her authentic, beautiful, neurodivergent self."
