Action Alert

Take action by calling your Representatives and asking them to support funding for the Lifespan Respite Care Program in FY 2021

Rep. Jim Langevin (D-RI) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) are circulating a Dear Colleague appropriations letter asking Representatives to support a $10 million request for the Lifespan Respite Care Program in FY 2021. Lifespan Respite Care programs work to improve the accessibility and quality of respite services for family caregivers of children and adults with special needs. These services offer relief for family caregivers and ensure that the individual, whether it be a parent or individual with special needs, receives the best possible care. As of 2017, competitive grants of up to $200,000 each were awarded to 37 states and the District of Columbia. This unique program supports caregivers well-being and improves the overall quality of care provided for individuals in need.

It is critical that a significant number of Members of Congress sign on to this bipartisan support letter. Please call your representatives and ask them to support funding for the Lifespan Respite Care Program by signing on to the Langevin-Fitzpatrick letter. The deadline to sign the letter is March 9th.

TAKE ACTION: Call your Member of Congress at 202-224-3121 and tell them to support Lifespan Respite Care Funding for FY 21.
