POLICY STATEMENT:

Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center grants equal access to its programs and services to all citizens. Community Inclusion Specialist-Full Time, 40 Hours/Week 7am-3pm

Full Time position, 40 hours per week; must be available 7am to 3pm Mondays-Fridays. Easterseals’ mission is to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people’s lives every day. Easterseals endeavors to offer services and programs that assist and empower those with disability related needs. We serve children and adults with disabilities as well as their families and caregivers. Our staff work with individuals to help them overcome challenges, achieve personal goals and live to their fullest potential. Under the supervision of the Manager our Community Inclusion Specialists are primary implementers of our organization’s services, working on the front lines in our communities. Transitional Services Specialist

Easterseals Serving Greater Waterbury, Central and Northwest Connecticut

Under the direction of the Manager, Community Inclusion Program, is responsible for providing direct services to individuals enrolled in the Transitional Services program. The Transitional Services program provides career discovery and career exploration opportunities to individuals in need of developing skills in the pursuit of future employment. Transitional Services assist individuals to prepare for participation in the workforce including acquiring or improvement of life skills necessary to be a successful participant in community based employment. Transitional Services start the day and end the day at the work center but the majority of services take place in community settings. Works closely with Placement Specialists in coordinating community based work experiences for individuals enrolled in program. Ensures that programs meet the vocational habilitation and rehabilitation needs of persons served with an emphasis on person-centered services and the primacy of the individuals served right to self-determination.
