A Salute to Fred Dowling

Our Friend, Mentor and Retiring CFO

Fred

Fred Dowling joined the Easter Seals family in 1981 as the Vice-President of Finance and Administration at Easter Seals Massachusetts. Here at Easter Seals Tennessee, we have been fortunate enough to call him one of our own for the past eight years. As our Chief Financial Officer, Fred has built a financially strong foundation that will continue to support life-changing programs for Tennesseans with disabilities for many years to come. Upon meeting Fred, however, one instantly realizes that he is admired by his business associates for much more than his financial prowess. His soft-spoken and kind demeanor is utterly refreshing, and you would be hard-pressed to find a more sincere individual.

Fred w/ Family

His genuine, generous nature extends beyond Easter Seals into the community at large. Whenever there is a need for a volunteer or hands-on participant, Fred is always the first to commit, whether it be during his 32 years as a Rotarian, as a founding member of the Catholic Business League of Middle Tennessee, or at our very own Annual Youth Fishing Tournament. Because of this dedication to service, Fred was the much-deserved recipient of the Buddy Killen Memorial Service Award at our 2014 Nashvillian of the Year Celebration. In his spare time, Fred enjoys traveling the globe to visit his three adult children, who reside in Boston, Jersey City and Shanghai. And ask him about his granddaughter, Denley, and you will certainly recognize a proud grandfather ready to show off a photo or two! He also enjoys hikes with his beloved labradoodle, Taylor, and cheering for his home team, the Boston Red Sox, every chance he gets!

Easter Seals Tennessee will forever be thankful to Fred for his expertise, guidance and friendship. We hope to see Fred visiting often because he will be truly missed by his whole Easter Seals Tennessee family!
