Head Start

Head Start is a national program that provides comprehensive developmental services for low-income, preschool children ages three to five and social services for their families.

Easter Seals Head Start Centers serves 488 young children in Miami

Easter Seals South Florida provides services to 488 children in six Head Start centers (480 Head Start slots and 8 Early Head Start slots). The staff at Easter Seals continues to provide comprehensive early childhood care, case management and education services for pregnant women, infants, toddlers and pre-school age children.

Sites in Miami and Miami Gardens include: Caleb Center, Jackson Dade, Culmer, Liberty Square, North County, and Ophelia E. Brown-Lawson.

Head Start

The Easter Seals mission to provide exceptional services so that children and adults with special needs can live, learn, work and play in our community aligns well with Head Start. Head Start is not "new" to Easter Seals. Easter Seals affilitates in 11 other markets nationwide provide Head Start and/or Early Head Start programs at 50 different program sites.

Easter Seals South Florida has been providing high quality, culturally competent early childhood education in Miami for more than 70 years. Easter Seals experience in autism, disabilities services, and behavior management will provide added value and innovation to the traditional Head Start service model.
