Easterseals South Florida provides FREE year-round (afterschool and summer) services, offering activities for elementary and middle school children (6-12 years old). The program includes literacy and homework support, physical fitness, social skills and a variety of enrichment activities involving music, art, dance and a unique French Heritage Language Program which is offered by the Haitian Cultural Art Alliance. Summer camp services will be available for elementary and middle school typically-developing children and children with disabilities residing in the city of Miami, Little Haiti and surrounding neighborhoods.  

During the school year, snacks are provided free of charge through Department of Health Afterschool Snacks Program. Summer lunches and snacks are provided free of charge. 

Dates: After school program operates following Miami Dade County Public School calendar. The summer camp runs for 7 weeks from June - August

                    Little Haiti Cultural Center (LHCC) - 212 NE 59th Terrace | Miami | FL 33137

After School Times: 2:30-6:00 at ESSF, 3:30-6:00pm at LHCC

Summer Times:  9:00am to 4:00 at ESSF and LHCC.

Ratios: 1:15 for typically developing students and 1:3 for children with disabilities.

Easterseals South Florida Summer Camp

Early Childhood Summer Camp

Easterseals South Florida (ESSF) provides a FREE 7-week summer program that offers literacy, swimming and social skills development for 6 typical children and 24 children ages 3-5 with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or related disabilities. Easterseals offers reverse mainstream classrooms with a 1:3 teacher to student ratio. The program will be offered at ESSF and will include outcomes that target improving or maintaining pro-social behaviors and improving or maintaining self-help skills. The program will utilize the evidence–based High Scope Curriculum and implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. Program will also offer parent and staff workshops to discuss issues specific to parenting and teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related disabilities.

Summer lunches and snacks are provided  free of charge by The Village South.

Ratio: 1:3

Transportation: Limited slots available for eligible campers.

Youth Development Culinary Arts Summer Camp

Easterseals South Florida provides a FREE 7-week summer youth independent living, job knowledge, life skills and hands on culinary arts training program for youth (including 9 typically developing role models) with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities in grades 6 - 12. Easterseals utilize video modeling as an evidence based practice to teach new skills to enrolled youth. Targeted outcomes include increases in practical job knowledge with a focus on culinary arts and healthy habits as well as, improvement in job knowledge and financial literacy skills.

Summer lunches and snacks are provided free of charge.
