For Immediate Release

2020 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge is Postponed

March 16, 2020

Dear Easterseals Disability Film Challenge participants,

Out of an abundance of care for our community and to do our part in helping to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, we are postponing this year’s Easterseals Disability Film Challenge.

We’ll announce a new date once we determine when we can safely come together. Know that Easterseals and I plan to host the film challenge as soon as we are able. Given what we’re all currently dealing with, it’s just too difficult to be any more specific at this time. We wish this wasn’t the case, for so many reasons!

That said, our film challenge registration will remain live on Film Freeway. Once we’re able to confirm the rescheduled dates, we will honor a refund to any registered participants who are unable to participate.

While the film challenge is temporarily postponed, our work is not. This is still an important time for us to stay connected on social and continue to take action, together, for disability inclusion and representation. Help us promote disability inclusion among your family, friends and social circles. And, please share tips with us on your favorite inclusive films and television!

And, as we’re all spending more time at home, why not “binge-watch” our past film challenge films and support your fellow filmmakers? We have six years of highly entertaining and creative short films for you to view and enjoy – just click on “Watch the Films” from our home page at www.disabilityfilmchallenge.org.

Be well and safe. Let’s stay close, and we promise to keep you all posted on any updates.
