Linda R

Linda Romine has served children at Easterseals South Carolina for the past 16 years.  Saying goodbye to Linda is such a bittersweet time for all of us at Easterseals South Carolina. However, there is no one more deserving of retirement than Linda. She started out working in the clinic, when Easterseals still had a clinic on Farrow Road in Columbia, SC.  Linda very quickly showed her dedication to the children she served by also providing in home services.  Shortly after joining the team, Linda signed up for her first school contract working in Newberry, SC. Linda would drive from Columbia to Newberry twice a week to see her clients. Linda did this for several years and then was offered to work with the Chesterfield County Schools in 2009. When she first started in Chesterfield she worked 3 days a week. Again, Linda drove from Columbia to Chesterfield which is a 1 hour and 30 minutes one way. This is the work ethic and the passion she has for the children she worked with. In 2010 she made the switch to 5 days a week at Chesterfield County Schools.

To say that Linda has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of children is not an understatement. She has a heart of gold and an enthusiasm for working with children that you could clearly see in her smile and sweet nature.Recently our CEO, Deanna Lewis and Melissa Griffin the Director of Medical Rehabilitation, presented Linda with “The Linda Romine Extraordinary Service Award”. Griffin said this while presenting the award, “Linda has worked in every facet of Easterseals South Carolina. She started her work in our Columbia, SC clinic in 2004. Since then Linda has worked in a variety of home and school settings. Her dedication and loyalty to Easterseals South Carolina and the agency's mission is unparalleled. It is very rare these days to find someone with impeccable integrity and ethics. Linda is that person."
