Lola's Story

How did you discover that your child had special needs?

When Lola was about 10 months old, she was not really interacting with other child and not making too many sounds.

How did you learn about Easterseals Early Intervention?

Easterseals was on a list of Babynet providers. I have another child who received early intervention from Easterseals, so I knew that Easterseals would do everything they could to help Lola grow and succeed.

How do you feel your child is doing now in comparison to when they first started their early Intervention journey?

Lola has learned so many skills. Lola is starting to use words on her own, rather than just repeating what she hears. She is making choices, playing with children, and is almost potty trained completely.

What kinds of support have been most helpful to you and why?

Easterseals is quick to tell me about resources available to my family. They help me with applying for services. Easterseals is patient with Lola and my other children. They provide encouragement when I need it, and they help me speak up for Lola.

Why should people support Easterseals?

People should support Easterseals because of the work they do to help children. Lola is a happy child, who is able to tell what she needs and wants. Easterseals has made a huge impact in Lola’s life and on my family.
