On April 25th I will be racing Ironman 70.3 Lonestar in Galveston, Texas. Ironman 70.3 is a long distance Triathlon consisting of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run. During the months before the race I will be doing 2 things to prepare myself.
1. I will be spending many hours training for this race.
2. Most importantly, I will be raising money for Easter Seals.
The goal is to raise as much money as possible.
I will specifically be concentrating my efforts, thoughts, and prayers on my Godson, Connor. Connor suffers from Autism.
I must admit that I do not know a lot about Autism, but I will also use this time to educate myself and anyone that will listen. Connor is far away and I do not to get to see him but 2 times a year. He lives in Pennsylvania with his parents, his dog, and his cat. He generally is a happy kid, but it breaks my heart when he gets upset and has trouble adequately being able to express himself because of this disease.
Connor also has many family and friends that love and support him every day, but that does not change the fact that he fights every day. Is Autism curable? I do not know, but what I do know is that every penny we raise will give all of these kids a better life.
All children deserve to have everything possible to give them the opportunity they need to lead happy, fulfilling lives.
Easter Seals is also a good partner to raise these funds because of the support they give to children in other areas of life such as athletics.
Easter Seals supports Special Olympics, and Special Olympics give these kids a chance to express themselves through competition.
Help me help Easter Seals, and at the end of the day Connor and other children. Give what you can. Give $1.
