Comcast Cares Day in Keys Region

A total of 46 Comcast employees, family members, friends and Easter Seals employees showed up at 8:00 AM Saturday October 6, 2007 to paint the Easter Seals building in Key West. The building was "prepped" the prior Saturday by employees that pressure washed, scrapped off old peeling paint, fixed trim, screens and patched cement that had been damaged by Hurricane Wilma. Rob Porcaro, Executive Director of Easter Seals Florida / Keys Region is shown shaking hands with Bill Underwood, General Manager of the Florida Keys and some of the attendees. Rob expressed his appreciation for what the Comcast team accomplished in 4 hours.

Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region is proud to present the 9th Annual Photography Exhibition "The Book of Firsts". This juried exhibition is the ninth annual collaboration between Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region and the College of DuPage Photography Department. We extend special thanks to the participating families and staff for providing the photographers such gracious access to the children and the photographers for the time and talent they have generously given to this project.

VOLLEYBALL CHALLENGE KICK-OFF

Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region hosted the 31st Annual Benefit Gala: Superheroes Unite! on March 21, 2009 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Over 500 community and corporate leaders enjoyed elegant dining, dancing to Orchestra 33, and unique auction items. Easter Seals honored Oak Brook residents, Lisa and Fred Barbara, with the 2009 Carol and Jack Sanicki Crystal Heart Award. Chris Cook of Carol Stream and a senior at Elmhurst College was featured as the Easter Seals 2009 ambassador. All proceeds benefit the Easter Seals Sponsor-A-Child Program which provides life-changing therapy services to children and families who are under-insured or un-insured.

Luke Smith - Eagle Scout Project 2010

For his Eagle Scout project, Luke Smith lends his landscaping talent to an area at Easter Seals Capper Foundation that wouldn't grow grass. After consulting with a local landscape designer, Luke used native Kansas river rock, limestone, quartzite (and lots of hard work) to create an area with fantastic curb appeal!

More than 80 golfers gathered in April in Escondido to enjoy a sunny and fun day of charity golf that grossed over $10,000 to benefit Easter Seals services. Eagle Crest Golf Club hosted the tournament and afterwards golfers enjoyed an awards ceremony, raffle, and exciting silent and live auction. Thanks to the dedication and support of Churchill's owner Ivan Derezin, Director of Golf Ed Espinoza, Dolman & Associates, Glaser & Bailey Awards, and Pat and Oscars the event was a great success for the fourth year!

The Shutterbug Group is composed of individuals from the ESNH Adult Day program who travel around Manchester and take photos of objects or scenery that inspire them. This group allows seniors to express themselves in a therapeutic and creative way.

Baker's Safe Halloween Banquet 2010

Baker's Drive-Thru Restaurants, serving the Inland Empire, raised $212,000 during the 22nd annual Safe Halloween promotion where coupon books are sold for $1 each with proceeds benefiting Easter Seals services. Baker's has raised more than $2 million for Easter Seals since the inception of Safe Halloween in 1989. The successful 2010 results were celebrated at a banquet in November.

Iron Pony Express - Toy Run

Iron Pony Express held it's annual Toy Drive to benefit Easter Seals Colorado. Over 100 kids with disabilities will receive toys this holiday season. A special thank you to Stan's Signs, 2 Wheelers and the Fire House Tavern for their contnued support.

The Easter Seals 14th annual Celebration Telethon was held on Saturday, May 2 at the 176 West Banquet Hall in Joliet. The event was broadcast live to over 60 communities in the southern suburbs. This year, we reached our goal of $200,000 to provide services to the 2300 children and adults with disabilities we serve annually.

911 Essington is the new home for Easter Seals Joliet Region residential and social services and also our regional human resource functions. In addition to Easter Seals Children's Rehabilitation Facility on Barney Drive in Joliet, Easter Seals has leased space for residential and social services for more than 12 years. The purchase of the facility was made possible through attractive pricing and long-term financing.
