Serving Older Adults

Over the next decade, over 71 million Americans will be 65 years of age and older. With the increasing numbers of older persons and persons with lifelong disabilities living longer, we will see a broader demand for home and community-based services--services. These services help manage chronic conditions, manage chronic conditions, assist with bathing, and cooking and other activities of daily living that may be limited as a result of acute or chronic conditions,as well as keep people integrated in their communities.  

Easter Seals programs such as adult day services, in-home support and services, community mobility options, wellness programs and support for family caregivers help people live as independently as possible for as long as possible. The Easter Seals family of services is ever expanding to meet the needs and help promote wellness, independence and connectivity among the growing number of older Americans.

	In-Home and Center Based Services Extending Easter Seals' expertise, Easter Seals adult day services meet daytime needs of adults with disabilities and older adults while promoting their dignity and independence. Easter Seals partners with families to ensure a continuation of their high-standards of care.
	The National Center for Senior Transportation (NCST) The NCST addresses the spectrum of transportation needs that allow older Americans to stay connected in their communities. The NCST develops, collects and distributes information and resources and assists communities in the expansion of transportation options for seniors.
	Medical Rehabilitation Whether through a birth condition, injury or illness, or because of functional limitations experienced in aging, Easter Seals medical rehabilitation services — including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-hearing therapy — are the first step toward helping people gain greater independence.
	Transportation Solutions for Caregivers Easter Seals provides caregivers with important resources to help make transportation of a loved one less of a struggle and more of a positive experience.  Funded through the Administration of Aging's National Family Caregiver Support Program, Transportation Solutions for Caregivers (TSC) is a great starting point for caregivers and transportation providers with questions and concerns.
	Loving Conversations Easter Seals developed Loving Conversations -- a free booklet that offers guidance for families determining what’s best for their aging parents. The resource provides advice on healthcare, living arrangements, financial management, legal issues, and community support groups and organizations. Most important, Loving Conversations walks families through the necessary, tough discussions and overall decision process.
	Services for Caregivers Whether you are a husband, wife, son or daughter; with Easter Seals you are not alone caring for a loved one with frail health or a disability. As a family member caring for someone who lives with you or far away, Easter Seals is there to partner with you to provide a safe, caring environment.
