Jed Johnson, director of the National Center on Senior Transportation (NCST) and Carol Wright, associate director of outreach and training at the Small Urban & Rural Transit Center (SURTC) will review the principals of cost allocation for human service agencies that provide transportation services. CEOs, CFOs, agency transit managers and anyone responsible for budgeting for their agency’s transportation services will be interested in joining us for this free 90 minute audio conference.

Service organizations provide a variety of services in meeting their mission. Very often, transportation services are part of the mix without being considered a major focus. With no other options available to assure that people get from “here to there” in order to avail themselves of needed services, the ride becomes important. Transportation can impose expenses that remain uncounted and disregarded. Many service organizations are unaware of the true costs for providing transportation services, and therefore, how these resources could be used more effectively to provide mobility for the people their organizations serve. Cost allocation is a key component of solid business management and overall program operations.

This will be a free 90 minute audio conference presented by the National Center on Senior Transportation in partnership with Easter Seals Project ACTION (ESPA) and the Small Urban & Rural Transit Center (SURTC). A PowerPoint presentation will be emailed to registered guests a week before the event for download and review. Please register before Wednesday April 14th.

This event will be transcribed. Approximately 45 days following the program a PDF and text file will be available on the Web site, and braille and audio CDs can be requested by contacting us at ncst@easterseals.com.
