As young professionals and future philanthropists our group operates under three pillars:
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania's mission is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities. Members of the YPG will learn more about the mission, network with other group members, serve in volunteer events, and help to fundraise for programs.
Our group will be comprised of college students from the Philadelphia area and young professionals under 40. We are building a diverse group that represents a wide range of professionals and all of the communities that Easterseals serves.
The Easterseals Young Philanthropist Group will have one event quarterly. Two of these events will be fundraising oriented, and two will be network building/ social events that will have a focus on learning about Easterseals, and help members develop professionally
Members will be able to network with other group members but also with Easterseals board members and senior leadership. Members will also learn from senior employees about what it means to operate a nonprofit. The YPG will also bring in guest speakers and have members be able to hold executive positions within the group.
For our upperclassmen soon to enter the professional world, the YPG will host resume building and professional development sessions.
The definition of disability is changing from just physical conditions to include invisible, emotional, social and educational challenges; together, we will positively impact the lives of people of all abilities.
