DONNA DAVIDSON HONORED WITH THE MYRTLE M. AND TOM B. MEDDER’S AWARD

Easter Seals North Georgia CEO Donna Davidson receives organization’s prestigious Leadership Award

May 27, 2015 - Chicago- Easter Seals honored Donna Davidson, president and CEO of Easter Seals North Georgia, with the Myrtle M. and Tom B. Medder’s Award at the 2015 Leadership Summit awards dinner in Chicago. Davidson, a 20-year Easter Seals veteran, was lauded for her outstanding leadership, program and service management and innovation, fiscal management, fundraising leadership, community involvement, and recruitment of volunteers.

Chairman of Easter Seals Board of Directors and President and CEO of CENTURY 21®, Rick Davidson presented the Medder’s award at the Summit.

“Donna is a recognized leader in the non-profit community and continues to lead Easter Seals North Georgia with her passion, vision, tenacity, and ‘can do’ attitude,” said Rick Davidson.

Under Donna’s leadership, Easter Seals North Georgia became the first Easter Seals affiliate to be a direct grantee for a Head Start Grant in 1997 and has since helped other affiliates with grant proposals to pursue Head Start grants.  Donna led the charge for the expansion of early education services in Georgia resulting in the state becoming one of the largest providers of daily inclusive early education and care services including medical, dental, education, disability, nutrition, and mental health services to 1,500 children in 12 locations.

Donna has been a national spokesperson for Easter Seals’ Make the First Five Count program and autism efforts, making sure local children get the services and supports they need as early in life as possible to succeed alongside their peers.  In 2010, she represented Easter Seals in addressing Congress at former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Early Education Summit.

"Donna is the epitome of the word leader. She is smart, committed, effective and passionate about Easter Seals North Georgia and keeps everyone focused on the mission,” said Easter Seals North Georgia board member John Bihr. “We are fortunate to see excellence in her approach and execution every day."
