Lauren Loses 30 Pounds with the Help of Easter Seals

Lauren

Lauren, a resident at one of Easterseals NJ’s Monmouth County group homes for people striving to overcome the challenges of mental illness, has been working hard to increase her independent living skills so that she can one day live in her own home.

When she first arrived at Easterseals, she was really struggling with symptoms relating to her mental illness. But with the help and support of the Easterseals staff, Lauren has been able to channel her energy into focusing on her health and overall wellness.

In fact, she has been so active in improving her health and wellness that she has already lost over 30 pounds…and counting!

To achieve this, Lauren has been actively watching her diet, journaling her food intake, and exercising regularly. She has also been an inspiration to her fellow residents and the staff as well.

“I hope to continue to lose weight, become more physically fit, and someday have a part time job,” says Lauren of her future goals.

“The staff is very helpful and always there for me,” she says. “Easterseals has been good for me.”
