Manchester, NH – Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Services has received a generous $10,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to help provide a safety net of critical case management and emergency assistance to meet the unexpected crises of veterans, service members and their families, for whom unemployment and housing insecurity are large factors. The grant will be used exclusively to serve Concord-area veterans.
“Our veterans put themselves on the line for us when they enlist and serve, and it is important, when they return home, for us put ourselves on the line for them,” said Byron Champlin, Lincoln Financial Foundation program officer. “Lincoln Financial Foundation is proud to partner with Easterseals NH to help service members, veterans and their families.”
Easterseals NH’s Military & Veterans Services is unique in New Hampshire in that it provides life-changing and timely financial assistance and services when no other resource is available to veterans, service members and their families, to ensure their dignity, health and overall well-being. Since 2006, Easter Seals has helped nearly 10,000 individuals with emergency financial support and provided assistance with suicide prevention, employment, homelessness and housing placement, and treatment for mental health and adjustment issues.
“We are very thankful for the continued support from the Lincoln Financial Foundation and for joining us in the important work of giving our service members and their families a hand up through challenging times,” said Easterseals President & CEO Larry Gammon. “Their support and support from the community is critical to help ensure our veterans do not have to struggle after sacrificing so much for our country.”
Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. This grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s annual $10 million investment in its local communities youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.
