Manchester, NH - The excitement is building for the Eversource Walk & 5K Run for Easterseals, to be held on June 1, at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Manchester. Easterseals New Hampshire and Eversource are teaming up again for an event that last year raised more than a quarter of a million dollars to benefit Granite State children, adults and seniors with disabilities and special needs.
“Easterseals is one of the largest human service agencies in the New Hampshire, helping more than 26,900 individuals with disabilities to live, learn, work and play in the communities where Eversource delivers energy every day,” said Easterseals President & CEO Larry Gammon. “Over the past three decades, Eversource employees have strongly embraced the work we do at Easterseals NH and we are honored to partner with them on this event.”
Although the event is still several months away, event organizers are hosting a special Kick-Off Breakfast on Thursday, March 2 from 7:30-9 am at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College. The Kick-Off Breakfast is open to returning team captains as well as to new individual and corporate team captains who are interested in fundraising and taking part in this event, now in its 18th year.
“Easterseals NH is vital to ensuring that thousands of our neighbors receive the support they need to attain success every day,” said Bill Quinlan, President of Eversource Operations in New Hampshire. “Eversource has supported Easterseals for many years because we believe in its mission and its value to the community. We’re looking forward to another great event this year!”
The 2016 Eversource Walk & 5K Run for Easterseals attracted more than 2,500 participants and raised more than $260,000. The Kick-Off Breakfast will celebrate this success and begin preparing teams to outdo last year’s numbers. Funds raised from the Eversource Walk & 5K Run for Easterseals will help Easterseals continue to provide services throughout the Granite State, including: autism services, inclusive child care and early intervention, special education, medical rehabilitation, camping and recreation, vocational services, senior services, substance abuse services, adult day programs, community based services, individual service options, transportation services, residential service options, dental services and veteran services.
Easterseals is also pleased to recognize NH1 News and WBIN as lead media sponsors and Millennium Running for supporting race management for the event.
