Manchester, NH - Across the state, businesses and individuals continue to come together to battle the opioid epidemic that has claimed so many loved ones. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has long been committed to the cause of fighting substance abuse disorder and to that end, recently recommitted to a generous sponsorship of $15,000 to the 4th Annual Farnum Spirit of Hope Event on May 17, 2017 at Manchester Country Club in Bedford NH. Farnum treatment and recovery facilities in Manchester and Franklin, a program of Easterseals NH, offer adults support on their road to recovery.
The Spirit of Hope event celebrates successful recovery efforts and the volunteers, families, and donors who make them possible. The event will, once again, be emceed by WMUR Anchor Amy Coveno and NH media personality and Spradling Group owner Scott Spradling. The evening will also feature personal stories of recovery as well as live and silent auctions.
“The opioid epidemic is a major public health crisis, touching every corner of the state and so many of our people. It has stretched New Hampshire’s substance abuse infrastructure to its limits, which is why we believe support for the Farnum Center is as important now as it has ever been,” said Lisa Guertin, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. “We’re proud to again be the presenting sponsor of this event, continuing our strong support of the Farnum Center and Easterseals New Hampshire.
Anthem’s gift is designated to helping with recovery by providing financial assistance for people who are unable to afford treatment and by ensuring funding is available to allow the program to respond to growing needs. This gift directly supports Farnum’s mission of helping individuals and families find their way to a life free of the effects of alcohol and other drugs through comprehensive treatment and recovery services open to all.
“We are grateful to Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for the support they have shown and the faith they have put in Easterseals towards our program, which makes a tremendous difference for those battling the disease of addiction,” said Easterseals President and CEO Larry Gammon. “Every detail of how we manage our work brings us one step closer to solving the substance use epidemic that is sweeping New Hampshire.”
Anthem is joined by other major event sponsors including: Spectrum Marketing Companies, Central Paper, Amoskeag Beverages, Air Planning, Mobility Services International, Catholic Medical Center, MAP Billing, and Common Man.
