Easter Seals Provides Military & Veterans Services with $10,000 Lincoln Financial Foundation Grant

Easter Seals NH Military & Veterans Services has received a $10,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to help provide a safety net of critical case management and emergency assistance to meet the unexpected crises of veterans, service members and their families, of which unemployment and housing insecurity are large factors. The grant will be used exclusively to serve Concord-area veterans.

Easter Seals NH Military & Veterans Services will provide a safety net of critical case management and emergency assistance to meet the unexpected crises of Concord-area veterans, service members and their families with the help of a $10,000 grant from Lincoln Financial Foundation. Unemployment and housing insecurity are two of the most common factors being faced by these citizens.

“They stepped forward for us, so it’s important that our community steps forward for them when service men and women and veterans need a bit of help,” said Byron Champlin, program officer for Lincoln Financial Foundation. “Our partnership with Easter Seals is one component of Lincoln Financial Foundation’s multi-pronged effort to address homelessness in Concord.”

Easter Seals NH’s Military & Veterans Services is unique in New Hampshire in that it provides life-changing and timely financial assistance and services when no other resource is available to veterans, service members and their families, to ensure their dignity, health and overall well-being. Since 2006, Easter Seals has helped more than 9,300 individuals with emergency financial support and aided in suicide prevention, employment, homelessness and housing placement, and treatment for mental health and adjustment issues.

“We are very thankful for the continued support from the Lincoln Financial Foundation and for joining us in the important work of giving our service members and their families a hand up through challenging times,” said Easter Seals President & CEO Larry Gammon. “Support from the community is critical to help ensure our veterans do not have to struggle after sacrificing so much for our country and the Lincoln Financial Foundation sets a high bar for generosity.”

Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes in empowering people to live greater lives, which advances culture and empowers greater positive change. This grant is part of Lincoln Financial’s annual $10 million investment in its local communities’ youth education, economic and workforce development, human well-being and arts programs.
