Children and adults with disabilities and special needs find highest-quality services designed to meet their individual needs when they come to Easter Seals. Teams of therapists, teachers and other health professionals help each person overcome obstacles to independence and reach his or her personal goals. Easter Seals also includes families as active members of any therapy program, and offers the support families need.

As the largest provider of disability-related services, Easter Seals offers military and veterans systems of care with viable options to support and augment current reintegration efforts.

Easter Seals New York Services

Adult Services: Offers Comprehensive Medical Services and Residential Services. The Diagnostic & Treatment Center provides comprehensive primary medical care and mental health services to more than 1,900 people with disabilities in Western New York each year. Through Residential Services program, individuals with disabilities live in supportive, enriching homes know as Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) located throughout Rochester. In the IRAs individuals will learn independent living skills and how to achieve their personal goals in the community.

Senior Services: The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) assists mature workers to re-enter the workforce through job training and internship placements. The Easter Seals SCSEP is a transition program, a bridge linking a senior worker to an improved life and economic independence.

Medical Rehabilitation: Promoting Independence and Quality of Life
Whether through a birth condition, injury or illness, or because of functional limitations experienced in aging, Easter Seals New York medical rehabilitation services -- including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-hearing therapy and early intervention -- are the first step toward helping people with disabilities gain greater independence.

Children's Services: Providing a learning environment for children and peace of mind for parents. Meeting a growing need for high-quality child care for more local children and their working parents. Easter Seals New York Child Development Centers children offer unique environments where children of all abilities learn together.

Autism (ASD) Services: Provides residential, educational, and clinical supports to children with disabilities and complex challenges. This unique setting makes a positive impact in the lives of children ages 5-21 who were not successful in previous programs. The Kessler Center provides services for students from throughout New York State as well as day education programs for students from the greater Rochester community.
