Easter Seals Nevada is proud to be Nevada’s premier provider of Assistive Technology (AT) and understands that technology is an integral part for people with disabilities meeting their independence goals. Easter Seals Nevada has a rich and diverse history in the field of AT with the AT Team having over 30 years combined experience providing these services. At Easter Seals Nevada, we believe that people with disabilities and their families are the “experts” regarding their abilities and needs. By working with our friendly and professional staff, individuals can make an educated choice regarding the assistive technology and services that will maximize their independence.
What is Assistive Technology?
Assistive Technology enables individuals with disabilities to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities through the use of technology or equipment. AT is any piece of equipment or product system sed by an individual to gain access to Information Technology (IT) whether it is in the home, at school, at work, or for recreational purposes.
Our qualified staff provide a person and family centered approach to AT evaluations, installations, training, on-going support, and access to Nevada's Assistive Technology Exchange Program.
Our AT team will meet with individuals with disabilities to help determine what assistive technology will help them achieve their indepdence goals, whether this is computer access, job accomodation, home office, education access, or recreational use.
After the purcase of new AT, we will set-up and install any new pieces of equipment or software for an individual with disabilities.
Our experienced staff will provide training to individuals with disabilities on how to use and best utilize their Assistive Technology, whether this be a piece of equipment or new software. We can provide this training in our office, at a job site, or in the comfort of the individuals’ home. Our one-on-one, self-paced trainings will ensure that each individual will become the expert on the Assistive Technology they use.
We are excited to sponsor the N.A.T.E. Project, the one stop resource that allows Nevadans to acquire AT, learn about devices, and view available loan inventory.
These services are provided throughout the entire state.
