At Easterseals, we know how important the first few years of a child's life are to their lifelong success. That's why we offer a number of services to help families and children every single step of the way - from Family Navigation to Assessments and Therapies and event Respite and Social Skills Groups.

Assessments and Therapies

Easterseals provides a variety of therapies and assessments, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), occupational, and music. Early intervention therapists work with families to assist each child’s development and offer education and support for parents.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Clinics

The ABA Clinic is designed to teach individuals how to interact with their peers and learn in a group setting. The Easterseals’ team builds an individualized plan for each person, outlining goals and addressing challenging behavior. This program blends learning in small groups with one-on-one training with an ABA implementer. Caregivers also receive support and training so that they can learn how to best understand their loved one and the nature of their disability.

Family Navigation and Support

Parents of individuals with developmental disabilities can feel lost, confused, or overwhelmed at times. Our Family Navigation Program ensures that families will not have to go it alone during difficult times. We can help support and guide families every step of the way – from birth to adulthood – by helping to navigate services, supporting with transitions at each milestone throughout life, and explaining and connecting families to resources, services, and funding. Our Family Navigators are here to support families and answer any questions they might have throughout their journey.

Home Visiting - Early Childhood

Home Visiting Services include developmental screenings for children, service recommendations, and free support for families with young children with and without disabilities — from birth to 36 months and three to 19 years. Families also have the opportunity to meet other families and children through playgroups and events.

Respite and Social Skills Groups

Respite services offer an opportunity for caregivers to take a breath and a break, while their loved one - no matter their age - participates in a wide variety of activities. During these activities, participants improve social skills while developing friendships with other participants. These groups are offered in the clinic or community setting, and include activities like bowling, attending events, dining out, and more. Respite services are also offered in-home.

Pre-Employment

These programs provide one-on-one learning and group experiences to build job-readiness skills for people with disabilities to find and succeed in community-based, competitive employment through volunteerism and internships. Programs include Pre-Vocational Training, Project SEARCH/Employment-Based Transition Training, and Summer Work Experience.

Social Skills Training

Social Skills Trainings stress the importance of developing and maintaining friendships for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Each service, specifically designed for either children, teens, or young adults, teaches people with disabilities how to develop and maintain healthy, safe friendships.
