The Exceptional Family Member Respite Program (EFMP) matches screened, trained and qualified respite providers with eligible Air Force families who have children diagnosed with moderate or severe special needs living in the vicinity of Robins Air Force Base in Houston County and Warner Robins, Georgia. Respite care provides a much needed temporary break from the often exhausting challenges faced by the military family, especially when one spouse may be on an unaccompanied tour of duty or are facing deployment away from their family. This service provides caregivers who can come into the home to care for the child and any siblings, if eligible, allowing the parent to schedule and carryout other household responsibilities. Periodic case management services monitor both family needs and the providers of services to assure the family receives the individual supports requested. Airmen or their spouses can call the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) at (703) 341-4100, visit the website at or call Easter Seals Middle Georgia at (478) 275-8850 for more information.
