We are pleased to announce Child Care Aware® of America has partnered with the United States Air Force (USAF) to launch a newly expanded program to provide respite child care to Air Force families with children with special needs. Easterseals Louisiana will administer the program locally.
USAF EFMP Respite Child Care has launched in Bossier City, LA, and serves eligible Air Force families based in and around Barksdale Air Force Base.
Through this Air Force-funded program, eligible Air Force families may receive 12 hours of respite child care per month at no cost to the family. Respite child care services in Bossier City, LA will be provided by qualified providers who are recruited, screened and trained in caring for children with special needs by Easterseals Louisiana.
To be eligible for USAF EFMP Respite Child Care, Air Force families must be enrolled in the Air Force Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) and have a child up to 18 years of age diagnosed under the EFMP as "moderate" or "severe."
