Craig: I don't think I'd be here if it weren't for Easterseals

Not every person would be inclined to celebrate the date he experienced a life-altering spinal cord injury, but Evansville native Craig Doninger describes the anniversary as “The Day I Survived.”

For the last six years, Craig has been getting together with friends and family to commemorate the day a diving accident resulted in a new trajectory for his life.  “My life may not be what I thought it was going to be, but it’s still good,” he says.

Craig is quick to credit Easterseals with providing a multitude of services that have helped him get to where he is today.  From equipping him with the appropriate wheelchair to modifying his home bathroom; from fitting him with the proper adaptive equipment to teaching him to drive with hand controls—Easterseals has been by Craig’s side every step of the way.

Today, occupational and physical therapies continue so that Craig can increase strength and work toward his future goals. He now works at Old National Bank and is working toward his his ultimate aim:  living independently.

Your support helps ensure that individuals such as Craig have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in our community!
