Individuals in GSE require daily supports by an Easterseals job coach for training and to achieve success on the job.  We provide opportunities for paid contract work at our Norwich Work Center and paid employment on a supervised work crew that is integrated into local business.

Individual Supported Employment (ISE):

Individuals in ISE are hired directly by the employer.  An employment special works with the individual acclimate themselves to their new job and assist them in focusing on the assigned duties.

As the employee becomes more independent in their new position, the employment specialist will continue to provide support necessary to maintain job performance.

Employment Specialists are job coaches who:

*Pursue employment for individuals to match their specified interests and abilities.
*Assist individuals in filling out applications and in the interview process.
*Work alongside the individuals in acclimating them to their required tasks.
*Actively involved in the adjustment, training, and stabilization of the individuals in their new job environment.
*Provide on-going support to the employee and employer.
