The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation has announced that they will award $25,000 to Easterseals serving Greater Cincinnati’s Veteran Services. The grant will act as a matching grant during the Paddle Raise at Our Serve: Military Appreciation Day, a fundraiser occurring on August 14 that celebrates veterans and seeks solutions to the challenges they face locally.
The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation is an independent family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The Foundation concentrates its efforts and resources in areas about which Carol and Ralph were most passionate: Arts and Culture, Community Development, Education, and Human Services.
With approximately 1,300 homeless veterans in the tristate area and nearly 5,000 local veterans who are unemployed and struggling to find work, supporting local veterans is a vital part of strengthening the local economy and the community. Easterseals Veterans Services promotes success by providing personalized support including emergency services, employment guidance and networking, and education resources.
“Local veterans continue to face overwhelming challenges in finding meangingful employment when they return home,” says Easterseals President and CEO Pam Green. “Thanks to the generous support of the Haile Foundation, we will be able to provide one-on-one support to these brave men and women and help them find success in their new civilians lives after sacrificing so much for our country.”
Easterseals Serving Greater Cincinnati programs currently serve more than 8,000 individuals annually. By focusing on managing whatever challenge stands in the way of an individual’s success, Easterseals is uniquely equipped to serve people with disabilities, people facing disadvantages, and veterans.
