Ben's Story

Ben standing among the racks at the Goodwill store

Our Goodwill® stores in Montana, southern Idaho and Utah operate with the goal of providing job training opportunities inside the store and also financial support for the organization’s mission-focused services. These services create opportunities for meaningful work and greater independence for people with disabilities or other barriers to employment. People like Ben, who not only works at our Great Falls, Montana Goodwill store, but also participates in Easter Seals-Goodwill’s Adult Day services.

Without Easter Seals-Goodwill, Ben’s life would be isolated and lonely—something that happens to too many adults with disabilities. Instead, he works part-time in the Great Falls Goodwill store, then spends two afternoons a week at the Adult Day.

Ben takes part in Adult Day social activities

Adult Day services provide daytime recreational and social activities in a safe environment for seniors with health issues and for adults with disabilities like Ben. Coming to Adult Day gives Ben a chance to socialize and be part of a community. Otherwise, as Ben says, “I’d just be sitting at home doing nothing.”
