Workplace giving programs provide an easy way to support Easter Seals Eastern PA. See how United Way of Berks County supports Easter Seals through their annual workplace campaign.
United Way of Berks County is a strong and unwavering key partner to Easter Seals Eastern PA. Their generous support is critical for Easter Seals to provide outstanding outpatient therapy services, clinic care, and recreational programs. We are so grateful for the commitment to Easter Seals and the families we serve.
In 2013, United Way of Berks County provided emergency funding for improvements in the Camp Lily-Berks rebuild. (No heat and heavy snow proved to be too much for the original building.) United Way of Berks County came to the rescue with funding for four heat/air conditioning units along with a washer and dryer to be used to teach life skills.
Easter Seals Eastern PA is grateful for this special partnership. Thank you!
Be sure to ask your employer if they have a matching gift program and ask them to match your gift to Easter Seals Eastern PA. All gifts made to Easter Seals Eastern PA through workplace giving are tax deductible. When making a gift to Easter Seals Eastern PA, please be sure to send along the appropriate matching gift form.
State Employment Combined Appeal
Each year, in the fall, employees of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania conduct their annual combined charitable giving campaign for employees. Most employees can make a gift using employee self-service rather than a paper pledge form. For more information on this program, www.seca.state.pa.us
Lehigh Valley / Pocono Corporate Work Place Giving Campaign
Companies located in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos can support Easter Seals Eastern PA by conducting a companywide workplace/employee giving campaign. These types of campaigns are a great opportunity to support our mission and awareness about Easter Seals and the programs and services we provide to local children, young adults and their families. Easter Seals can make arrangements to send a family representative to your company to share their Easter Seals experience and tell you about why Easter Seals is a much needed resource to our community. For more information, please contact Nancy Knoebel, CEO, at 610-289-0114 x210 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)
EITC provides Pennsylvania tax credits to offset the tax of a business (or business owner) that makes a qualified charitable contribution benefiting Easter Seals Eastern PA. The tax credit is taken in the year the contribution is made. With the contribution’s remaining eligibility for federal income tax charitable deduction, there is little cost (pennies to the dollar) to participate in this program.
Additional information is available online at www.newpa.org (type EITC in the search box) or by calling the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) at 717-787-7120.
Two of our programs qualify for EITC - Camp Growing Green and our LEAP program, both helping teens prepare for jobs and independence. Download our EITC brochure
Business Application Start Date:
Because of the popularity of the program, businesses are encouraged to apply for the credits as early as possible (on the application date). However, applications are encouraged throughout the year as unallocated credits usually become available.
If you have any questions about Easter Seals Eastern PA and the EITC Program, we'll be happy to talk to you. Please contact Nancy Knoebel, CEO at 610-289-0114 x210 or email email@example.com.

Dress Down Days: Arrange with your employer for a Dress Down Day for a donation of $5 to Easter Seals.
Cooking Contest for Bragging Rights: Arrange for employees to volunteer to make a variety of dishes (could be a themed event). All employees can pay a tasting fee to sample and vote for the best dish(es). The proceeds can benefit Easter Seals Eastern PA. (If you need a guest judge, let us know)!
Coin War: Place jars in the office for “extra change” and have departments compete to raise the most money.
Company Vacation Days: Ask your boss or human resource director if they will donate a vacation day to be raffled off to a winning employee who made a gift to Easter Seals.
Team Spirit or Sports Day: for a donation employees can wear their favorite team t-shirt, jersey, hat or sweatshirt to the office prior to a major sporting event.
Ugly Tie/Scarf Contest: Ask coworkers to bring in their wackiest and ugliest ties and scarfs and display them in a prominent location (lobby or lunch room). Put a jar or bucket beneath each one. The tie or scarf which receives the most donations at the end of the week is the winner.
The list is endless – be creative and have fun!
Day of Caring / Spend-A-Day / Community Days
Easter Seals is always looking for an opportunity to partner with the community. Day of Caring and Company volunteer programs are a great way to support Easter Seals by providing much needed labor (and sometimes materials) to complete a project for Easter Seals that could not otherwise get done.
Spend-A-Day is a great way for a company or volunteer groups to experience what Easter Seals is all about. Spend the day volunteering and experiencing one of our exceptional programs. We offer opportunities to roll up your sleeves and work side by side with our counselors at our Lehigh Valley and Berks County summer camps, respite and recreational activities.
Community Days are a welcome opportunity for Easter Seals to join in with company promotions and community based fundraiser. Please contact our office if you would like to share an opportunity for Easter Seals to be part of your next community day or event.
