Since the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, many social barriers have been reduced for children and adults with disabilities. However, more needs to be done so that people of all abilities are included in their peer networks and communities. The opportunity to work, socialize, develop relationships, and live independently is not offered as a possibility to many people with disabilities. Easter Seals Eastern Pennsylvania seeks to change that bleak outlook. In addition we offer a variety of summer programs as well as recreation and respite services that provide opportunities to live, learn, and play in their communities.
If you are concerned that your child's development may not be progressing as expected, be sure to visit Make the First Five Count: a free screening program for children from birth through age 5 to identify potential developmental delays. If a delay is suspected, our team will connect you with local resources that can help.
