Preschool Pals

Focused therapy programs are intended to allow children to address their therapeutic needs and goals amongst peers working on similar goals. In this program, speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists use a play-based approach to target social communication and play skills, such as initiating and maintaining social interactions, turn-taking and expanding pretend play.

Each week will revolve around a different theme and will include a short circle time, sensory play and activities, games, and symbolic play to target these specific social skills. This program will provide natural opportunities in a fun environment for children to strengthen and generalize their social skills and build meaningful peer relationships.

Who Should Participate?

  • Children age 3 through 4
  • Conversational level speech
  • Able to separate from caregivers
  • Benefit from support with peer interactions
  • Children seeking more experiences interacting with peers
An initial evaluation will determine the appropriateness of your child’s participation in this program. If it is determined this program is not appropriate to meet your child’s needs, alternative recommendations will be provided.
