Easter Seals programs across the country provide a wide variety of interventions that help individuals of all abilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Children develop skills, or "milestones," at their own pace. How is your child or grandchild doing?
The goal of Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) is for handwriting to become a natural, automatic skill for children. It utilizes a multi-sensory approach in teaching writing techniques, and creative tools to emphasize proper letter formation and neatness. This program will cover printing of all Capital Letters and Numbers 1-9.
Children at least 5 years of age who are ready to develop and/or improve writing skills are appropriate. Children need to be able to follow directions, have letter name recognition, hold a pencil, and attend to the therapist without direct help. Consistent attendance is an important component to success in this program; as the material builds from week to week. Children will also need to practice at home, and will receive weekly practice sheet packets.
