Learning your child has a disability can be scary, but Easter Seals therapists can ease the minds of parents like Shannon whose son Brendan received children’s therapy services. “Easter Seals looked at him from every angle to figure out a therapy plan. They gave him more confidence and gave us the extra support we needed to keep going.”

Camp Fairlee : A Source of Support for the Whole Family

Camp is about roasting marshmallows, campfire songs, swimming, canoeing, fresh air and friendships. At Camp Fairlee Manor, the possibilities are endless for children and adults with disabilities! As one mother says, “Camp Fairlee Manor is great! It is truly a relief to know there is a place Jon can go to have fun and enjoy a typical childhood experience.” While Jon is at camp having fun with friends, Carla and her family receive a much-needed break from caregiving.

Matt and Brandon are Best Friends. 

Matt and Brandon spend five days a week together laughing and enjoying each other’s company at Easter Seals day program for adults with intellectual disabilities. Some days they enjoy outings to the zoo, Blue Rocks games and other local attractions. Matt’s mom says, “Easter Seals is such a blessing to our family because Matt is happy, busy and is part of the community.”

Jennifer is a Part of the Team!

Jennifer is a valued employee at Casapulla’s South in Rehoboth Beach where she works as part of Easter Seals Supported Employment services. As her boss, Mike, says, “It’s Jennifer’s cheerful personality that wins customers over and keeps them coming back!” Supported Employment makes it possible for adults with intellectual disabilities, including autism, to get the job training and coaching needed to find meaningful work.

Liam is Safe and Comfortable at Home.

Full-time caregiving of a loved one can be overwhelming. Eileen was relieved to find Easter Seals In-Home Services could provide companionship and assistance after her 90-year-old father moved in with her. “I feel 100 percent better and I can entrust him with someone else while I am not there. I feel at ease that he is not alone.”

Multiple Sclerosis Can’t Keep Mary Down!

Until she was diagnosed with MS, Mary led a busy life. Since her diagnosis, Mary has tried to stay active in the community, but that was a challenge until she found the adult day care program at Easter Seals. “I don’t know what my life would be like without Easter Seals. It just wouldn’t be the same.”
