Leave a Lasting Memory at Easterseals Camp Fairlee

March 23, 2017

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore is kicking off their “Buy a Brick” campaign for Camp Fairlee in Chestertown, MD. The Brick Campaign is the final stage of CAMPaign Fairlee, a $4.5 million campaign for Camp Fairlee, a camp that provides people with disabilities once in a lifetime opportunities while also providing respite to their caregivers.

The Pathway of Memories, built with commemorative bricks, will connect campers and guests from their newly built cabins to the many buildings and programs throughout the Camp Fairlee campus. Bricks can be personalized and purchased at www.de.easterseals.com by clicking on “Get Involved” and then Buy a Brick-Camp Fairlee.

“I was inspired to purchase a brick because I wanted to honor a special friend and colleague,” Virginia Nobles said. “I love Camp Fairlee because of the experiences it provides to people with disabilities. Some of our campers have only one week out of the year to experience nature and outdoor activities like the zip line or canoeing. Buying a brick is a tangible way to honor or memorialize a loved one.”

Easterseals CAMPaign Fairlee already has raised more than $4.2 million due to the early support of various companies, foundations and individuals in the community. The public is challenged to join this community-based, grassroots effort to help raise the remaining $300,000 of the total needed to pay for the recent upgrades to their 250-acre sprawling campus in Chestertown, MD.

Four new, fully accessible cabins, a new health center, an expanded dining hall and a new 12,000 square foot activity center have been added thanks to the campaign. These changes are already allowing camp to serve more families and to connect new partners interested in renting the facilities.
