Easterseals Annual Dinner Honors John Riley

September 13, 2017

John Riley, longtime board member and past Board Chair of Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore, will be recognized at the 2017 Easterseals Annual Dinner on Thursday, October 12 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. A cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 6:30 p.m.

Easterseals, a leading provider of services for children and adults with disabilities and their families, will present Riley with the Drex Jones Volunteer Award for his extraordinary service to people with disabilities in the region. The award is given to an individual in recognition of sustained efforts that have had a significant impact on the quality of life for people with disabilities.

John’s dedication to the Easterseals mission is rooted in his personal understanding of the importance of Easterseals services to the individuals and families who need them. John’s cousin, the late Tom Brand, was a longtime recipient of Easterseals services both in the adult day program and at Camp Fairlee. A longtime board member and past Chair, John’s devotion to Easterseals is evident in the leadership he provides whether it is advocating in the halls of government for funding, spearheading innovative strategic planning or steering a capital campaign for the organization.

This year’s Annual Dinner is not only going to honor John Riley, treasured volunteer and advocate for Easterseals, but also promote the numerous ways guests and the community can “ACT” for Easterseals to support the mission of serving individual with disabilities. Through donating, volunteering, advocating and participating in our events, our community can show their support for our participants, mission, programs and services.
