Get Involved and Support Easter Seals

EventsHelping people with disabilities is what we do at Easter Seals, but we can't do it alone. One way to get involved is to attend a caregiver workshop, put together a volleyball team, sit on an event-planning committee, or pitch in on-site at an event -- there's something for everyone. Visit this site often for updated information on events in your area.

Another way to support people with disabilities is to volunteer your time, talent or expertise. Learn more here about volunteer opportunities.

Transfer and Mobility Techniques
Proper positioning and transferring techniques are extremely important to ensure the safety and health of yourself and your loved one(s). Join us at Easterseals as Fox Rehab therapists Morgan Patino MOT, OTR/L and Vicki Allen PT, give a brief training covering bed/chair mobility and transferring, sit-to-stand transferring, and even special considerations for transferring a loved one with memory impairment.

The DEpendABLE Act
The State of Delaware is rolling out its Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) plan called DEpendABLE in June.  This plan allows for individuals with disabilities who meet the eligibility requirements to save for their future, but still retain precious government benefits if they are receiving them.
The office of the State Treasurer is offering presentations at two Easterseals
locations to discuss eligibility, enrollment, and the available investments, as well as other plan features.
