Get Involved and Support Easter Seals

EventsHelping people with disabilities is what we do at Easter Seals, but we can't do it alone. One way to get involved is to attend a caregiver workshop, put together a volleyball team, sit on an event-planning committee, or pitch in on-site at an event -- there's something for everyone. Visit this site often for updated information on events in your area.

Another way to support people with disabilities is to volunteer your time, talent or expertise. Learn more here about volunteer opportunities.

Easterseals Announces New Lifespan Respite Grant Funding

Caregiver burnout puts your physical and mental health at risk.  Respite allows you the time to relax, clear your mind, and find some peace in your busy life.  Through Easterseals respite programs, partially funded by the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities, you could qualify for grant funding to pay for care of your loved ones while you get a break. New applications for Lifespan Respite funding will be accepted beginning September 5, 2018. Click here to complete an online application, or call the Community Outreach Department at (302) 221-2087 to complete over the phone.

November Savvy Caregiver Series

Easterseals is partnering with The Lewes Public Library to bring you the Savvy Caregiver Series. The classes, which provide knowledge and skills essential to those who are caring for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, help guide caregivers toward the goal of creating a more fulfilling life for their loved one(s) and maintaining a healthy balance in their own life. A recent graduate of the Savvy Caregiver Series said; “I told my friend who cares for her mother with dementia, she needs to come to this class!”

The series will be held four consecutive Tuesdays:
11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 11/27
2:00pm to 4:30pm

The Lewes Public Library
111 Adams Avenue  |  Lewes DE 19958

Registration is required. Please call Christine at (302) 253-1129 or register at the front desk of The Lewes Public Library.
