Owned and operated by Easterseals Central Illinois, accredited by the American Camp Association, and located on the shoreline of Lake Bloomington, Timber Pointe Outdoor Center is the premier resource in the state of Illinois for providing specialized outdoor recreational, experiential and family programs for individuals with disabilities and illnesses in a fun, safe and accessible environment.
In addition to these inclusive programs, we offer integrated programming for typically-developing siblings and peers. Whatever the need, it is said that Timber Pointe Outdoor Center is a magical place serving some of the neatest people in the world.
Timber Pointe Outdoor Center offers programs throughout the year. Summer programming, in particular, gives way to many opportunities for children and adults. Over 1,200 participants will attend on or more programs in a given summer. These programs include Easterseals residential and day programs, Adventure Day Camp, contracted partner groups and rental groups.
Each session includes traditional camp activities such as swimming, fishing, hiking, canoeing, a pontoon boat ride, arts & crafts, target sports, barnyard animals, high ropes, zip-line and horseback riding. We strive to create an experience that is inclusive, stimulating and educational while providing opportunities that might otherwise seem impossible due to physical limitations, developmental delays or illnesses.
Timber Pointe Outdoor Center provides specialized lodging, staff and programming for many contracted partner groups including Autism McLean, the Brain Injury Association of Illinois, the Muscular Dystrophy Association - Central Illinois and Northern Illinois regions, FOP Illini Lodge 17, SIU School or Medicine's Camp COCO, the Association of Horizon, the Families' and Childrens' AIDS Network, Thresholds Young Adults Program, and Northminster Presbyterian Church of Peoria.
